You can’t avoid the nightmare scenario where you drop something on your rug and it spills. The fact is that spills, stains and dirt can be a regular part of everyday life. However, they do not have to remain on your steam star carpet cleaning permanently.
General Carpet Care Tips
In order to remove stains as effectively as possible, it is important that you take action as soon after the stain as possible. It is best to blot stains, rather than rub them. In general, spilled fluids should be blotted rather than rubbed. It is important to always blot inwards from the outside, because blotting forward only serves to spread the stain.
As far as maintaining carpets are concerned, deep cleaning should be done regularly. Cleaning carpets is far more efficient if you don’t have to remove months or even years worth of embedded dirt. The investment of a steam-cleaning vacuum cleaner will not only allow you to remove dirt deep in the carpet, but it also eliminates odors.
Each type of stain has a different tip
Pre-treating the following stains is recommended before using your deep or steam vacuum cleaner.
Alcohol Cooldrink Urine Ice Cream Mud Mud
To clean any of the stains above, you will need a solution consisting of 1/4 teaspoon of white wine vinegar and 1 liter of warm water. Remind yourself to Blot and not Rub.
Coffee, Tea, Blood, Chocolate, Vomit & Wine:
Then, dry the excess with a towel. The stains can be cleaned with a solution of ammonia (1 tablespoon) diluted in 1 cup water if the carpet you have is not made from wool. The best solution to use on a wool carpet or one with a wool mix is a mixture of water and laundry detergent. You can then vacuum the carpet with a deep or steam-cleaning machine.
Candle Wax and Fat & oil:
This is the worst possible situation, yet it can be avoided. Simply place a damp paper towel on top of the stain. Iron the paper towel. It should be possible to remove the stain by ironing over a paper towel.
Nail Polish
You can dab the nail polish off with a cotton pad or ball that has been soaked. It is important to apply as little nail remover to the area as possible.
